About Me

I am Chan Kar Yik, a.k.a chicken wing, a.k.a gai yik. I am based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, working as a Senior Frontend Developer at Bitlab Digital and Freelance Frontend Developer. I am a passionate developer with robust problem-solving skills and proven experience in building responsive, interactive, user-friendly, and feature-rich websites.

I picked up front end web development skills from scratch through The Techy Hub’s internship program. From there, I was given several valuable opportunities to work for renowned clients even though I was just an intern. This internship program had sharpened my skills and boosted my confidence in building websites.

I face countless challenges every time I work on a website. However, I always feel excited to see the website mocks because I love to read the design from head to toe to visualise the process and outcome in my brain and figure out the best approaches to do the job. I really enjoy every second of doing this.

I have worked on a lot of web projects that came from clients of vast industries. Those web projects serve different purposes, but they have the same objectives: To solve their problems. I listen very carefully to client’s concerns and expectations, and I will provide the best solution for them.

Throughout my agency life, I had provided mentorship and supervision for junior developers and interns. I had also successfully trained and converted several interns into full-timers. I often shared my feedback, thoughts, and experience with them so that they can learn new things, cope with the company’s culture and handle the pressure of getting jobs done.
